Seems the new ad for Heat by Beyonce is causing something of a stir for those over in the UK. Recently deemed too “sexually provocative” and “unsuitable for young children” by the Advertising Standards Agency they’ve banned the ad being broadcast before 7:30pm.
L’Onglex has been jabbering about this all morning and in the end we decided to put the subject to a vote. Aside from the fact that banning the advert will make every ten year old want to watch it on YouTube we figure we’d let you decide.
So, vote in the box, leave a comment here and as always we’ll pick one name out of the hat for a goodie bag … oh, and if you haven’t seen the video here’s the link.

The old mantra “sex sells” definitely has not been forgotten for the making of this video! Sex is used by marketing agencies to sell pretty much everything from crisps to shower gel so I don’t think we can be honestly shocked or appalled by this. It is definitely “sexually provocative” but is it any different from any of Beyonce’s music videos? (which, right or wrong, most children have access to anyway). At the end of the day, she’s selling a product-herself and seems to be doing a good job of it, she looks amazing!! I’m sure the added publicity from the Advertising Standards Agency won’t hurt either!
I don’t think its too bad. There is worse adverts out there that the ladies shed alot more clothes. In fairness Beyonce’s advert should be like that as it is just representing the name of her perfume really. If they want to put it past 7.30pm that is only going to peak the interest of the kids anyway. They can’t ban youtube they will see it no matter what. If they left it on when its meant to go it wouldn’t be a problem. The kids wouldn’t bat an eyelid. They see worse than that on tv.

I think theres worse stuff on the TV aswell, all this publicity is great for her !
Comment by Rachel Douglas — November 26, 2010 @ 3:43 pm
Good on her… If you got it flaunt it!! Because of this add she will sell alot more and isn’t that what its all about!!
I don’t see anything wrong with this ad, she has all her clothes on like no harm done. AND banning the ad is just making people look it up on youtube which will get the product more veiws and will then make more poeple want to have it. plus i never look good when im sweating haha she can sooooo pull it off
Jeeez Ive seen worse than that? What bout the Alpen ad were the women have their crotches right on show (sorry to sound disguisting lol!) Id say people are just jealous they dont have her Beyonces body haha!
I don’t think there is anything wrong with it – it is a hot ad for a perfume called heat! Love beyonce!

I really don’t see what all the fuss is about, she doesn’t strip naked or anything. There’s a lot more on show on the beach in summer than there is in the ad. I bet Beyonce is laughing all the way to the bank from the extra sales due to the free publicity.
Sure what harm is she doing, its a change from all the doom and gloom on the tv lately

I do think it is encouraging the sexualisation of young girls as they will want to be like her. There is no need for it.

Ah if that’s all people have to be worried about then life is good! Fair play to Lady B, if I had her bod I’d have no problem showing it off either!

Fab! I love the way her touching the walls and her footsteps leave the scorch marks on the walls/floors.

I am not fond of the ad, mainly because I am not fond of Beyonce…but I wouldn’t let my 5yr old daughter watch it…
