If you’ve had your peepers glued to the blog over the last few days (and why wouldn’t you?) you may have noticed a bit of a theme, or er…. obsession, emerging on the subject of brows.
We’ve shared our top plucking tips over the last week and not being the sort to wander too far of the beaten track we thought we’d share the latest thing that came our way- Tri Brow by Make-up store.
Landing at the L’Onglex HQ on Friday morning to a chorus of oohs, ahhs and general exclamations of wonderment, it’s given all of us here with nothing better do the perfect excuse to play with our brows !
Having had a few days to generally work through the shiny newness of it the general opinion here seems to be it has all the makings of one of those “we can’t live without it” sort of products that come around from time to time.
Firstly – Tri brow does it exactly what it says on the tin and then probably a bit more just for the hell of it. Shades for blondes, brunettes and redheads alike, a little goes quite a long way which is pretty useful as I managed to leave my Clarins brow kit somewhere on a Dublin Bus but with this being half the price I think I’ll probably stick with it.
Secondly – it doubles as quite a nifty smokey eyeshadow pallet – we’ve been using the light beige as a base and creating lots of smokey textures with the brown and charcoal.
Finally if you checked out our Lauren Luke inspired Lady Gaga “how to” you may be interested to know that a little water on an angled brush turns the charcoal Shadow into quite a nifty black eyeliner so you get a bit more for your money – especially when you get to the awkward bit when there’s hardly any left in the compact.
So, there you go, we like it, we like it even more for being three products for the price of one and now all we have to do is decide who in the office will get to adopt this little guy for good. Understand now why we ooohed and ahhhed ?

We’re sorry we’ve been a bit lax on the nail shades front of late. You see, we just ran out. We didn’t mean to, but there are limits to even my capacity to try different nail polishes. However, normal service is now resumed with Make-Up Store Clarissa batch 601. When I first ran my súile over the bottle I must report I was a little dubious but now we’re used to it the pink is really growable.
At first glance it all looks quite soft and feminine but after a couple of coats and a lick of Instadry my nails a dusky, husky charm thanks to this sultry tint of pink.
If you think Cheryl Cole meets Dusty Springfield circa 1972 your just about there, unless of course I happen to start singing Son of a Preacher Man …. in which case you won’t be there at all – you’ll be anywhere but near.
Clarissa batch 601 is available from Make-Up Store. More nail swatches coming soon.

If memory serves correctly a few days ago we promised to do some swatches following our visit to the folks at Make-Up store at Arnotts. Being as we were so incredibly impressed with the fact they seem to have every possible colour, shade and hue of nail polish a girl could wish for, it was a bit tricky deciding where to start.
Here, for your consideration, is the Leah Purple and although the pictures don’t really do the rich sense of deeply purple deliciousness justice, I’m sure you can appreciate that I’m keeping it for a while longer – bad news for sales of our favourite nail polish remover.

As you know we at L’Onglex are a bit fanatical when it comes to all things nail related ( yes, we know thats sad ). Being as we are on a quest to find the best shades this week we came across the lovely ladies at The Make Up store at Arnotts.
Thinking we’d stumbled upon some nail nirvana our eyes bulged at the goodies available. The store is full of goodies and those of you with an eye for this seasons colours will be more than happy. As days out go this was about as good as it gets and when I noticed that all the polish was named after the people who work at the store it occurred to me I might very soon jump ship from L’Onglex Towers.
Understanding as they were about our nail polish obsession and after what seemed several hours of selecting and re-selecting the girls at The Make Up Store we’re kind enough to give us a few of their favourite nail shades in a goody bag for our collection ….. we’ll do some swatches soon and put them up on the blog – keep your eyes peeled !
